Lake Monji Picnic & Paint |
Lake Monji will come alive with people again this year with a fun filled park full of activities, markets, kites and art on Sunday 20th September. You will have a great time at our Arts in the Park day with lots of food, music, entertainment and a few new surprises.
Come and see real artists at work – ask them some questions about being an artist – they will be working on a piece to display for the annual Lake Monjingup exhibition.
Artist Jeff Brown’s work will once again be the centre of attention in the ‘Monji Muddle’(if you enjoyed doing the quiz at the Festival of the Wind you will love this!). Win a prize for collecting all the answers and clue’s – it will be worth it and so much fun.
Meet Michael Alvares again with his giant 50 metre kites flying through the air and why not try your hand at building your own. Kite-building workshops will be available throughout the day and Michael will be on hand to give you some expert tips for flying.
The day is focussed around family fun for the little ones through to the grandparents so come along and enjoy the day with us in the gorgeous Lake Monjingup Park – only 10 kilometres out of Esperance on the road to Ravensthorpe. |

Lake Monjingup Picnic and Paint - Arts in the Park |
The Lake Monjingup Development Group and Esperance Community Arts are partnering up again after the successful day at Lake Monji last year.
Local artists will be creating art work on the day that will be exhibited at the Esperance Woodworks and Gallery, a silent auction will take place so come along and snap up a bargain. The APEX train will be providing fun-filled hours of rides around the park and market stalls will be selling their wares. You will be entertained by local musicians and a special appearance by the Esperance Brass Band.
All of the usual fantastic things will be happening this year again but we have a special treat for kite enthusiasts. Some of you may know of Michael Alverez, an internationally acclaimed kite flyer and maker, who visited Esperance a few years ago as part of Festival of the Wind. Well, he is returning with some new kites, giving Esperance people a chance to make a kite and fly it with some of his huge kites.
So mark your calendar on the 21st September at 10 - 2 pm and pack up a picnic and join us out in the beautiful 'A' class reserve of Lake Monjingup.
The park is a reserve and unfortunately no dogs are allowed.
