‘Six seasons, one country, many stories’- Djeran

In May we went for a walk on Country at Lake Monjingup with Kepa Kurl Wudjari artist and Tjaltjraak ranger, Jennell Reynolds to learn about the season of Djeran, followed by lunch and discussion with Jennell and visiting Nature writer Yann Toussaint about the indicators of changing seasons. This was part of our ‘Six Seasons, One Country, Many Stories’ project presented in partnership with Esperance Tjaltjraak Native Title Aboriginal Corporation.

Yann also hosted a storytelling workshop for adults at Esperance Community Arts Space and for children at Esperance Public Library.

We are sharing some pictures here of our Djeran Activities.

This project is part of “Our Stories :Many Cultures, Many Places” is funded by Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and Lotterywest through the Creative Communities fund.Yann’s workshops have also been part of our Act Belong Commit Art for Mindfulness Program.
