Esperance Stargazing event

About the Project

Here are a few photographs from the very special Stargazer event at the Esperance Museum last week! Over 100 community members had the opportunity to sing along to the Wudjari translation of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Nyungar Elder Annie Dabb and her daughter, author Wanika Fazekas translated the song especially for this evening. There very few speakers of the Wudjari dialect so the opportunity to hear and share this language was a great privilege. Thank you to the team at the Esperance Public Library for organising this wonderful event and especially to Annie and Wanika for sharing their culture and language so generously.
